Benefits of Membership
ISA "Certified Arborist" Program: Certification establishes a level of expertise within the arboriculture profession. A list of certified arborists is provided to Cornell Cooperative Extension, municipalities and other organizations upon request.
NYSA Merchandise: Truck Sticker and Pin (see photo on right -click for enlargement). The pin looks identical to the sticker (just smaller), with a gold rim.

The Empire State Tree Conference: An annual educational conference and trade show. Highlights research of maintenance of woody ornamentals, business management, and legislative updates.
Seminar/ Workshops: The Association sponsors seminars and workshops throughout the state such as, Cornell Field Diagnosis: Insects and Diseases on Trees and Shrubs, updates on regulations and other current issues.
Shade Tree Notes:Our quarterly publication is filled with arboricultural, industry and association information.
Public Relations: Promotion of the industry through activities such as Arbor Day celebrations, the Arbor Day Poster program and the State Fair exhibit.
Journal: Membership directory with useful information.
Tree Climbing Competition; with winner being sponsored at the ISA competition.
Awards:
Several awards are given annually:
Distinguished Arborist Award is presented to a respected colleague who has furthered arboriculture in New York State.
Research Award is presented to a researcher that is working on important research regarding the improvement of arboricultural industry.
Senior Scholar's Award is presented to an individual whose professional studies have made significant advances in the field of arboriculture.
Student Scholarship is awarded to a second, third or fourth year undergraduate student who excels in arboricultural education and studies.
Professional Field Arborist Award is given to an arborist who has made a significant improvement in professional "hands on" tree care, heroism or creating a better field practice.
Gold Leaf Award recognizes individuals, organizations, or communities for outstanding Arbor Day programs or community landscape beautification projects.
President's Award recognizing outstanding service by a volunteer.
